Each time the fire alarm goes off I take the fire extinguisher with me. The first time people looked at me a bit funny but the next time I saw 3 other people with them.
Parents double wide manufactured home/cabin in Wisconsin; we plan to shelter in place unless we really need to leave. They don’t have any land for gardening and the neighbors are within 50 feet.
We have three ways to cross into Wisconsin then there are many paths to the location.
TODO (later): look into $20k~ worth of land but we want to pay cash for it.
Everyday Carry
Me – 35 years old – 200 lbs., works outside of the house
My CodeReady plan kept in the truck. I took the customized one they have online and added facial and full body pictures of each family member. Also added a bug out checklist.
These locks can be bumped, picked or a copy of your key could be made from plastic and used with a paper clip to defeat the sidebar.
So it appears that all locks can be opened. Here is how I rationalize this. If a run-of-the-mill bad guy walks up to my house and sees the sticker above the locks that says “Medeco High Security Locks”, alarm stickers on thewindows, motion sensors and a large barking German Shepherd. I think he/she might move on to my neighbor that doesn’t even have a deadbolt on their front door or leave doors and windows unlocked. They would have to have good intelligence on very high valued goods in our houseto make the risk/reward formula work out in their favor.
Both adults have conceal and carry permits for Minnesota, Florida & New Hampshire TODO (later): North Dakota
We have a code word that we use when referring to guns that is “cat”.
We use it like can you go check on the cat when we think this is problem or we need to make sure they are all secured if kids are over.
“Cat Food” is the ammo or magazines.
We use it a good bit and no one has ever let on that it is code for something.
OK, OK… one neighbor at a poker party, but he thought we were talking about fooling around.
Our kids have grown up with this knowledge and they have not ever reveled that we have/carry weapons. The rule we have with them is that they can handle the weapons anytime as long as I am there with them. I tell them that if I am at work, I will drive home just sothey can handle them. In return they promise never to touch them. Plus, any that are not currently being used are locked up.
My folks know that we carry and they told my sister and brother-in-law before we told them to please not tell anyone else.
Moral of the story – don’t tell anyone it WILL get around.
2 Kel-Tec P-3AT- Deep concealment during work and also as a backup while carrying larger caliber pistol.
These are the version one with the crappy extractor. The ammo was very fussy and I couldn’t trust it. Now I use the Ruger LCP.
6 magazines
210 rounds ammo
Crimson Trace Laser Sights I tried the ArmaLaser Laser System on one of the pistols and it worked for a month or two. Then it would not shut off without using the master off switch. I switchedto the Crimson Trace and have no problems now.
I have currently put 250 rounds through it and it had a bit of problems at first with the slide catching and not fulling seating forward. I just gave it a bit of forward assist and it worked itself out after 100 rounds.
1 Kel-Tec PF-9- I didn’t like the smaller 380 auto caliber so I am trying out the 9mm for not at work carry. It seems to be a trustworthy weapon.
4 magazines
150 round ammo
Crimson Trace Lasergrip For Keltec PF9 Md: LG435 I tried the Armalaser – Laser Sight for Kel Tec PF-9 but when it was fully on the picatinny rail the battery cover pressed too hard and it eitherstayed on or didn’t turn on. I called ArmaLaser everyday for 4 days and they never returned my calls. By the time they returned my call I had already order the Crimson Trace.
My wife was a bit gun shy so she started of on this weapon. She used this pistol to qualify for her concealed carry permit. There are not any rules that states you have to qualify with the pistol you will carry so she use this one with the red dot targeting systems on it.
200 rounds of bird shot – TODO (later): I never tried to skeet with this shotgun before. If it doesn’t work well I might need to get a hunting shotgun or a different barrel $200~.
I use wax paper to cover where the battery contacts the phone. This extends the standby time from phantom currents that drain the battery. In the phones where the wax paper can be pulled without ripping it I mark it a “Pull”. On some of the phones where the paper will ripI use the “No Pull” and a cover will need to be taken off and the paper removed before it can be used.
When I change the smoke detector batteries & change our storage water (when daylight savings changes) I check and charge the phone batteries.

2 Meal Ready to Eat (MRE) – Currently eating the ones we have had for 10 years and the still taste fine. TODO: buy more MREs
1 Amoxicillin – treats many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection
2 1998 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 4WD – 14 mpg highway. We have been rear ended 3times in these vehicles and the only damage were the bumpers were pushed in a bit. The other vehicles where heavily damaged and one was a semi.
We don’t let our gas tanks get below half a tank 22 gallons (most of the time).
With our 2 trucks 44 gallon and gas cans on hand we have 125 gallons of gas
The generator can run for 20 days on full output (1 gallon = 4 hours of 1,300 watt- 1,850 watt output). This is needed for the 1,500 watt heater in the winter.
If the output is 400 watts or less the generator will run 26 hours on 1 gallon
4 converted 120v lamps to 12v – I cut the 120v plug from the lamp wire and attached the 12vDC Car Power Adapters. Then instead of 120v light bulbs Iuse 12v bulbs.
Personal computer is cabled to the desk (would need a saw/bolt cutter to steal it). Maxtor STM310004OTA3E5-RK OneTouch 4 Plus 1 TB 3.5 for offsite storage of all personal files (photos, videos, documents)
Antibiotics – My folks have another place near the Mexico border and they buy two year supply each year for us. We don’t self medicate. They will only be used if directed by a doctor and regular medications cannot be obtained via a pharmacy. It is legal to import antibiotics into the US. It is illegal to import narcotics.
Amoxicillin – treats many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection
I grabbed a bunch of old phone that were going to get rid of after people upgraded. I dialed 911 on each of the phones to see if would work. After the 4 try they were getting upset with me.

100+ 3 inch seed starting plastic pots – Tried to use the small seed starter packs but you have to upgrade to the larger pots for tomatoes anyways. I now just start with the larger 3.5 inch pots.
1 Ludell double sided axe – Have not used it yet but it took an edge very well. Don’t know how long it will keep it. The reason for the double sided is that you can sharpen both soyou don’t need to bring a file with you in the woods.
2 bags of Bug Killer – Damn bugs. I had these little fly-bee looking things in the corn and those Japanese beetles on the pole beans. Everything else is not touched.
We use this to change the water in our 55 gallon water containers.
This will also be used to procure water after our clean water is used up. We will put one of the 55 gallon water containers in the back of the truck on its side with the bung hole to fill on the top. We will backup to a lake and begin to pump until about full. When we arrive backhome we will transfer the water to another container to await filtration.

Ok, I get having food stored in case of shortages. But why do you need all those guns? And you take them with you everywhere? Do you expect people to attack you from around every corner? And bullet-proof windows?! Seems a little paranoid to me.
Not around every corner but just the one that matters. We we lived in MS I was robbed (attempted). It was in the parking lot of a Piggly Wiggle and when I pulled my gun on him he ran away. I was also carrying my my 2 month old daughter at the time.
If someone will attack you with an infant in your hand you better believe I carry my sidearm everywhere I go.
I see you have only purchased semiautomatic handguns. While I do own a couple (.40 sigsaur & Walther PPK 380), my k-frame 6-shot revolver S&W 38 special on single action is so accurate specifically because of its short crisp trigger pull, I much prefer it. Also I worry that semi-autos jam relatively often. So my backup is a 2″ S&W 5 shot revolver. I am considering having “trigger” jobs done on all my pistols so they perform as well as that k-frame. Heaven forbid I will ever actually have to shoot at a person but pistol bullets are notorious for missing their targets in action and one may as well fine tune their performance along with one’s own practise techniques.
Hey,
great channel, very informative. Thanks a lot for sharing!
I just have one comment if may. You said the maps of your region that you carry in your and your wifes bug out bags are marked with your bug out and meet up locations. When I read this, a scenario just flashed into my mind, in which you loose the maps or you loose the whole bag with the maps in it or they get stolen or whatever, in short someone else gets his or her hands on these maps for whatever reason, plus lets assume this person is hostile, which I think isn’t too far fetched considering that anyone you don’t know might become “hostile” in a way if desperate enough, he or she then does have the same information: where to find people who are probably prepared, hence have food for example. Of course this scenarion is rather unrealistic, but if this unfortunate constellation does occur you might just send unexpected and probably unwanted visitors to your folks. So maybe this is something to consider when weighing up the pros and cons of whether or not to mark the locations on the maps. You could rather make sure that everyone of your family remembers these locations… but who am I to propose something, not knowing anything about you and anyway I think you said you probably wouldn’t bug out even if something should happen, so I guess I’m kind of making a fuss about nothing right here. But I just wanted to share my thoughts with you, since you share so much for me and everyone to profit from.
Thanks again and regards
ORION ENTERTAINMENT IS CASTING FOR A DOCU-REALITY TELEVISION PILOT FOR PREPPERS IN THE PERSONAL SECURITY SPACE
Orion Entertainment, the world’s leader in outdoor-adventure television, is currently casting for a new docu-reality television pilot that explores weapon-savvy Americans and their families. These regular and everyday citizens are armed and prepared for when the fabric of society unravels in the wake of any major cataclysmic event.
The weapons preppers featured in the television pilot will be armed with the latest in firearms technology, ammunitions, night vision optics, vehicles and security systems. They believe their preparedness and armament is to ensure the safety of themselves and their loved ones for catastrophic events such as terrorist attacks, economic meltdowns, global pandemics and natural disasters.
Potential candidates would need to be available for approximately 4 days of filming and provide camera access for a full 360-view of their defensive strategies:
• On-camera interviews with preppers and their family and friends (when applicable). Need to hear of any past incidents and events that have shaped their mindset today. What motivates them now, and what are their biggest fears and thoughts on the future of the world?
• An “all-access tour” of their security items – firearms, ammo, knives, night vision, etc. What do they have, and more importantly, why?
• Access to test-firing weapons – our preppers will show our host and audiences what their firepower can do.
• A sneak-peak into their security and safety plans and strategies. What is the plan for an economic crisis? Tornados that wiped out the states power grids? A terrorist attack on U.S. soil?
• What is their training of real-world scenarios and situations to keep their skills up-to-date? The preppers and our host will run the drills.
• We want to see it all, hear it all and feel it all.
Orion Entertainment has a reputable and long standing relationship with the firearms and accessories industry as well as a proven track record in successful awareness and preparedness programming through the likes of our Don’t Be a Victim series on Spike TV. We take the need for personal protection, preparedness and awareness very seriously and our end goal is to educate the public on this vital need. Our mission is to showcase the people that are smart and are prepared. This is their insurance policy, and they’re on the right track to keeping themselves and their loved ones safe for when society unravels and for whatever the future may hold.
This is an exciting opportunity to explore the harsh realities of society today, told through the lives of the most armed people in America.
Together these American citizens – and their chilling motivations – establish the fundamental premise of this series: nothing matters if the society unravels and you can’t defend yourself, your family, and your survival cache.
PLEASE NOTE: We fully understand the need for anonymity and respect that. Only first names will be used when requested (or can be changed for protection) and only general locations will/can be used – i.e. south, east coast, mid-west.
This open casting call is for a limited time only, filming will begin very soon, so it is important to take action now. To submit yourself or someone you know for the program, please send contact information, a brief bio and a “preview” of what security items you have to gunshowcasting@gmail.com or call 720-259-1547 for more information.
When I first looked at this list, I said to my wife, “This guy has really taken survival to a new extreme.”
Then I reviewed the list again. It is a well-considered, comprehensive and well researched plan that should do its job of preparing and protecting his family for almost any Black Swan that might fly their way.
Thanks for sharing this and and setting a standard. It makes us all rethink our own levels of preparedness by comparison.

While I enjoy your pages, I must say you defy the meaning of opsec, the cardinal golden rule numero uno in TRUE SURVIVAL.

Now, there is a complete wack job. Anybody who is that paranoid will last about ten minutes in the real thing.
What did you search for to find my site? Peace loving, head in the sand, no disaster has ever been real? And yet, you found my site somehow?
If a prepared person will last 10 minutes then by your logic an unprepared will last 5 seconds?
