Food Storage Inventory Software System

I have started to use a new software application named “Inventory Droid” . It allows us to use the phones built in camera to scan barcodes on food we bring into and out of our home. The program allow you to export the data to a CSV file.

First change the raw CSV data into a workable Excel table by using the “Insert” tool tab. Then click the “Table” button. I also freeze the top row and add “Total Row”.

Next I need to create additional columns “Gallons”, “Calories” & “Need” Columns.

The formula for the “Gallons” column the will be “Ounces * Servings Per Container * Quantity / 128”
The formula for the “Calories” column the will be “Servings Per Container * Calories Per Serving * Quantity”
The formula for the “Need” column the will be “Servings Per Container * Calories Per Serving * Quantity”

Scroll to the end of the data table and pick “Sum” from the total selector in the “Gallons” & “Calories” columns.

To find the total calories filter the “Category” column to exclude “Cat Food”, “Dog Food” & “Pet”.

The total calories can be entered into the “Calories On Hand” on the “Storage Food” spreadsheet.

The same can be done for dog and cat food by filtering the category

I filter for drinks and water then enter the data into the “Storage Food” spreadsheet.

For the shopping list version I filter where the “Need” column is greater than 0.

I then sort by the “Category” column and hide all but the “Name”, “Category”, “Quantity”, “Need” & “UPC” columns. Print and go to the store.
